small framed paintings
While living in Boston I was selling fewer large pieces compared to other cities where I was working. During my Boston shows, people would comment on how they loved the work but didn't have the room to hang them; considering the density of the city, most living spaces were small. This gave rise to the Small Framed Works and an affordable means to start a collection of art.
I believe what makes them fun for the viewer is creating combinations of several pieces.
What makes them fun for me is the size. In short, I look at them as small studies. Each original 4 X 6 painting is oil on canvas and from the my point of view, this presents the challenge of how to go about the work. Painting larger works you have a sense of space, freedom and movement and to create that in a small work becomes the challenge. Yet, I enjoy this process!
